Since 2000, Discovery Energy has audited tens of thousands of utility accounts. It manages millions of MWh of electricity and millions of Dth of natural gas for clients, and its work has returned millions of dollars in refunds and tens of millions of dollars in recurring annual savings.

Pricing depends on the services a client uses. Procurement, bill pay, reporting and renewable advisory can be added alongside an audit, so findings from one service feed into the others.

• Utility Bill Audits: Contingency-based, with no upfront audit fee. Under the agreed terms, Discovery Energy is paid when the client receives qualifying refunds, credits or realized savings. The percentage is usually 15% to 50%, depending on the size of the accounts and whether Discovery Energy also manages other parts of the client’s energy program.
• Energy procurement: Either a fixed monthly fee paid by the client or commissions paid by the energy supplier.
• Software, bill aggregation, bill pay and data services: Quoted by the number of accounts and the scope of data required. These services can be included at no additional charge when the audit, procurement or advisory engagement is large enough.

• Boutique by design: Discovery Energy focuses on utility billing, tariffs and Utility Cost Management.
• Client approval at every step: Client approval is required for refund requests and account changes. Discovery Energy handles the utility interactions.
• Works with existing providers: Discovery Energy can work alongside a client’s existing energy managers and procurement advisers.
• Transparent compensation: Clients see their data, the process and how Discovery Energy is paid, including when an energy supplier pays a procurement commission.
